How we work

A Defined Remit For Each Norwich Asbestos Enquiry.

Norwich Asbestos Surveys focuses on the information commercial dutyholders need to understand asbestos risks and organise the work ahead.

Norwich Landlords, Facilities Teams And Contractors

We take enquiries from commercial landlords, facilities managers, contractors, schools, factories, offices and other business premises. The aim is to connect the reason for the enquiry with a clearly defined investigation or specialist task.

A normal-use inspection, a material test and an intrusive survey for construction answer different questions. We start by understanding what is happening in the premises and what the next person needs to know.

Specific Before Generic

Useful asbestos information identifies the building areas inspected, the materials found and the limits of the investigation. An unexplained exclusion can matter as much as a positive sample result when a contractor is planning work.

We encourage buyers to compare the proposed scope, competence evidence and reporting arrangements. A service label alone does not tell you whether it covers the work you are about to commission.

Standards And Provider Checks

Survey work should follow the relevant principles in HSE’s HSG264 survey guide. Sampling, analytical and clearance work should reflect HSG248 and the applicable requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

When appointing a surveyor for a Norwich property, follow HSE’s recommendation to use an accredited surveying organisation. Check the appointed provider’s current UKAS scope for the activity, and check an HSE licence where removal work requires one. No provider accreditation or licence is claimed for this website.

What Happens To Your Enquiry

Tell us about the premises, the purpose of the request and any existing information. With your agreement, the enquiry may be passed to a suitable local firm to assess the work and discuss scope, availability and cost.

Before appointing anyone, confirm who will carry out the service, the competence evidence, the written scope and the handover documents. A form submission does not create a booking or a commitment to proceed.

Already Found Suspect Material?

Stop activities that could disturb it, keep people away and seek competent advice. Do not collect a sample or clean up debris to prepare for a visit.
